Warren and Deb
30th July 2022

When Warren and Deb got in touch with me to photograph their wedding at Kudhva in Cornwall, I was more than a little excited.
After a fun video chat, I was totally amazed by the ideas they had for this festival-style wedding at a Cornish glamping spot! Picture live bands on stage, wristbands, and glitterballs, all set in a stunning, private, and remote location.
I went down the night before and got there just after midnight. After chatting with Warren about the next day and helping a couple of party-goers get to bed, I headed up to my Kudhva cabin to catch some sleep. I had no idea what a treat was waiting for me when I woke up!
The Venue - Kudhva, Cornwall
Kudhva, which means "Hideout" in Cornish, is tucked away in an old slate quarry in Cornwall. Spread across 43 acres of off-grid shrubland, forests, and fields, it offers a one-of-a-kind spot for a wedding.
Proudly off-grid, harnessing nature for all your needs it is not a traditional wedding location, with Tipis, Kudhva cabins, Tree top tents and the incredible Danish cabin providing accommodation for the wedding guests.
There was a space amongst the trees for the stage to be built and shelter from the ever changing Cornish weather. It was decided on the day that the service would be help in Kudhvas own old Cornish mining building on the site, like i said this was not a traditional wedding location, but then again, Warren and Deb are not a traditional bride and groom.
The Couple - Warren and Deb
Warren rocked his outfit, with his Sparklebutt trousers, Phixx Clothing shirt topped off with a cowboy hat and sunglasses, he truly looked the part of one of the stars headlining a festival, super glam, super out-there and just too cool!
Deb matched her grooms glam with a bespoke white gown with stars on by Jennifer Blake and rock star pink sunglasses. Later in the day Deb pulled out custom a custom denim jacket that was just perfection!
The Wedding
The weather was doing its usual British summer dance—think sun one minute, rain the next—but instead of freaking out, these folks just went with the flow like they were at Glastonbury! The whole campsite, or should I say the festival grounds, was decked out with Deb's handmade creations, adding to the Woodstock vibe. Just like any epic festival, the guests put on their wellies, and off we trotted down the path to the ceremony. Who needs predictable weather when you've got wellies and a good sense of humor?
A witty and equally beautiful service was held in the old mining building followed by the festivals opening act. During the change overs we went off to various locations and soaked up some sun in the breaks in the clouds and stared at the sea.
As the day progressed the bands played their sets and then came to join in with the rest of the guests, it was a real community of artists, performers and fans of live music. The speeches were made from the stage and the emotion and love was plain to see.
Then the party kicked off with a DJ set late in to the night, hey, when you are having a festival you want to rave in to the small hours right?
Have a look, be inspired and take it from me, this is a perfect example of doing your wedding, your way.
